A conversation

Ring ring, Ring ring.
"Hello"
"Hi"
"May I ask who this is."
someone who needs saving.
"what do you mean?"
I just cant handle this anymore.
"Cant handle what."
....
"hello"
yeah
"What cant you handle anymore?"
Everything I suppose.
"I know how you feel, Its hard."
...
"Yeah I sometimes wounder if its even worth going on."
How do you do it?
"A will to live and a fear to die I suppose."
That sounds unhealthy.
"Could be, though I am finding other things that help."
Like what?
"Friends for one, though, I don't really know if they are friends."
Why don't you know, can't you just ask?
"I have but the answer I get feels, empty."
That seems more opinion than fact.
"Even if it isn't I don't think I will feel truly comforted."
Seems like you need saving more than me.
"Yeah I guess we all have our problems."
... yeah, I guess we do.
I could be your friend.
"If I accept could you show me that you care."
I could try, but I barely care for myself.
"Just because you don't care for yourself doesn't mean that you cant care for others."
But that would mean that I could cause pain to them further down the road, if it gets bad enough.
"If it comes to that then I think you have done everything you could."
...
"Hello."

Sex and labor trafficking are defined by the National Human Trafficking Resource Center as “a form of modern-day slavery in which individuals perform [sex or labor] services through the use of force, fraud, or coercion. [sex or labor] trafficking includes situations of debt bondage, forced [sex or labor] and involuntary child [sex or labor]. Minors under the age of 18 engaging in commercial sex are considered to be victims of human trafficking.” The   president of the anti-human trafficking club, Heally Kirk, has networked and been a part of organizing many events within the co...

Cancer and Nancee

Awaking to find herself in a place she didn’t know, machines blaring and people rushing in to see what is the matter. “You aren’t lucky to be alive, you are blessed,” the doctor told Nancee Beamer, 58 at the time, awaking from a year and a half long coma. “It was like awaking from a dream, like on a slide going faster and faster toward a big bright light.” Rare and cancerous tumors in the brain causing a seizure and eventual collapse at her home in Seattle, Washington. Four surgeries spanning over 12 years trying to remove the malignant growths has left her head scarred with trenches, soft spots, and divots. The cancer has metastasised throughout her body.  “We all have challenges, welcome to life 101.” Nancee smiles and coughs, her lungs filled with fluid and tumors. Before being diagnosed herself, Nancee already knew the devastation of  this devil known as cancer. Serving in the Peace Corps in South Africa, Nancee met Anselmo DeLibero , a Brazilian bodybuilder who was ...
